The deadly downing of a Colombian National Police (CNP) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter by a drone on Thursday is the latest sign of the growing vulnerability of rotary-wing aircraft to these attacks. While apparently the first such incident in the Western Hemisphere, the tactic was developed by Ukraine to strike Russian helicopters and has reportedly spread to Asia as well. The downing comes as militaries are rethinking the utility of helicopters due to myriad threats, including drones.

Sunday/Obligation
"Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded?
So should it be with you.
When you have done all you have been commanded,
say, ‘We are unprofitable servants;
we have done what we were obliged to do.'”
Tough stuff where Christ gives a parable that gives no reward for doing what you should. But 'what you should' is becoming harder.
A recent baseball video clip showed a San Diego player, angry over a strike call during the Wild Card game with Chicago, punching the umpire and knocking him unconscious. Did the crowd erupt? Was the player thrown out of the game? The league?
No. I saw the game, saw the strike call, and saw the player stalk to the dugout. He never struck the umpire. The video was created.
There is more video content created than can ever be watched. The distinguishing character is how pointed, disturbing, personalized, and controversial the content is. (A quick review of Sora will give you an idea of its impact. And this is very early in the curve of development.)
Life is difficult enough when we are plagued by preconceptions, distortions, and error. But how are we poor men to live, how are we to make decisions, when the information we have to base our decisions upon is purposefully false?
