The Pirates started a 27 year old rookie pitcher who hasn't started a game since 2014 in the New York Penn league (Class A)--and he's the best they've got. That said, Bell is really hitting. And they brought another guy in from the 2016 draft who threw a 97 mph sinker.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has decided to block contracts with campaign consultants and other political vendors who agree to work for progressive challengers in the 2020 primaries.

The University of California has calculated that race predicts SAT scores better than class.
The Pentagon is the single largest government consumer of energy, and it is dependent on fossil fuels. Using this fact, the redoubtable Elizabeth Warren has a plan she thinks looks patriotic. She tweets, "To improve military readiness and help us achieve a #GreenNewDeal, the Pentagon should achieve net zero carbon emissions for all its non-combat bases and infrastructure by 2030.”
We will, I assume, achieve this by turning to energy sources we do not have and nobody uses. The Chinese are in trouble now.
Every year in New York City, Asian elementary school students vastly outperform every other racial and ethnic group on the admissions test for the city’s competitive public high schools, even though a disproportionate number of them come from poor immigrant families.
On this day in 1536, Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII, was executed on charges including adultery, incest and conspiracy against the king.
