Fable

A story from Quora:

"I was babysitting a friend’s little sister and decided to take her out for fro-yo. As the two of us piled on the different flavors and toppings, we noticed a friendly-looking old man in the corner.
I paid, we sat down, and the man approached us.
If I gave you a million dollars, would you give me your sister? (Sic)” he asked.
“NO!” I shouted. I pulled her closer to my chest. Instinctive. Instantaneous. Natural.
The man looked at me in the eye. He said, “Never forget how rich you are.”"

A charming lesson in life, except in many instances the man would be lynched before he could explain his point.
