CNN "Insurrection", the Fox "Protest"

So what's the CNN "Insurrection", the Fox "Protest", in D.C. mean? I have no real understanding of politics but I sure have some opinions. There have been revolutions and uprisings in the past; this was spiteful theater.

1. Trump has been irredeemably damaged. He promised a major reversal in the election today and many of these dolts showed up to participate. He hustled his own supporters. He looks malicious and stupid. But malice and stupidity do not disqualify politicians. People should be embarrassed. I wonder if this guy is okay.

2. The Right is screaming at the cops, the Left is horrified the cops are being disrespected.

3. Attacking institutions has consequences. A society cannot turn a blind eye to one group and expect everything to be ok.

4. Bad understanding of history has consequences.

5.  The Press has always been afraid of the Tea Party. Now they get to personalize it.

6. The argument will be advanced that the country tolerated all sorts of disorder in the cities, like Portland. That's true but no one really cares about a city that doesn't care about itself. The Americans care plenty about Washington.

                                a) attacks on a barbershop and a men's shop is simple criminality. Attacks on the halls of government is an anti-social political act. But disinterest in one could create the other.

7. The narrow, biased Press is really bad for the nation. Even the reporting of this horrible event was heavy-handed.

8. Undermining the election of 2016 and continuing with the disinformation with the Steele Dossier created a suspicion of the validity of elections that will never stop. It may have driven this president nuts.

9. Allegations are not evidence. Acting on allegations is stupid.

10. These news people think this is an embarrassment before the world. This is what politicians and stupid people do.

11. The nation has become a morass of suspicious, iconoclastic, shallow-thinking, history-denying, biased, closed-minded, arrogant people. The question is can the structure of the nation survive its undeserving citizenry.
